Yanni Hufnagel’s Talent for Player Development

Today’s college coach has more pressure than ever. Outside of simply winning games, college coaches are expected to graduate players, maintain a clean program and recruit the best players. These demands can often be overwhelming. Each year tons of coaches lose their job because they can’t keep up with these demands. Yanni Hufnagel has proven he has the ability to meet such high demands. His impressive resume proves he is ready to lead a major college basketball program.

Yanni Hufnagel’s roots date back to Scarsdale, New York. It was there that he built a passion for the game of basketball. Yanni was unable to make playing basketball a career so he soon looked into coaching. At the University of Oklahoma he began working to develop young players. As only a graduate assistant he had the opportunity to develop a number of great players including the incredible Blake Griffin. Yanni was quickly developing a reputation as a great recruiter and player developer.

Yanni’s talents would continue to shine at future stops. Yanni worked along a number of well known coaches including Kevin Stallings, Cuonzo Martin and Tommy Amaker. Hufnagel continue to demonstrate that he had a unique ability to recruit great talent and develop it as well. During these stops he played a role in the recruitment and development of many great players including Ivan Rabb, Jaylen Brown, Jeremy Lin and Wesley Saunders. Hufnagel has become well known and praised by many members of the college basketball world. With such skills combined with his impressive track record, he is destined to be a head coach soon.
