Dr. Cameron Clokie Champions The Future Of Regenerative Medicine

Dr. Cameron Clokie has for the last three decades curved himself a niche in the field of regenerative medicine. This time, Clokie played an active role in academic dentistry and clinical practice at the University of Toronto. While here, he was named Head of the Maxillofacial Surgery in 1998 before being crowned professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery by the University.

Nonetheless, Apart from his duties at the University, Dr. Clokie is also a serial entrepreneur and CEO of Induce Biologics Inc. The Biologics Company specializes in the development of regenerative medicine and innovative solutions for musculoskeletal reconstruction.

Dr. Clokie’s achievements

During his three-decade tenure as an academician, Dr. Clokie published several research papers and held presentations nationally and internationally about regenerative medicine. In particular, Clokie specializes in bone reconstruction and healing. He has particularly had immense breakthroughs in bone healing that he has shared with both the academic and commercial enterprises.

For instance, in a recent presentation dubbed Coaxing bones to grow anew at the University of Toronto, Dr. Clokie illustrated the success his research and innovative regenerative and bone healing medicine has achieved. To drive his point on the effectiveness of the regenerative medicine and bone healing home, Dr. Clokie presented the audience with two victims of benign tumor that causes an aggressive growth of the jaw bone. If left untreated, the tumor can cause face distortion and in extreme cases fill the airwaves thus chocking the patient to death.

One of the tumor victims, a 60-year old, Mr. Russel, was introduced to Clokie’s regenerative medicine that saw him regrow seven centimeters of his bottom right jaw. Interestingly, this regeneration only required four hours in the surgery room and two nights in the hospital. The other patient, a 20-year old, a 20-year old Canadian, Ms. McFarlane had to spend over 19-hours in the operating room and an additional two weeks in the hospital.

Mr. Russell seems to have responded well to the surgery and medication and has been able to get back on his day to day business of gardening and golfing in summer and skiing in winter. On the other hand, McFarlane still struggles with the condition, more than seven months after the first operation.

Bottom line

According to Dr.Cameron Clokie, Mr, Russel’s success case was only made possible by his breakthrough in the use of a protein that stimulates adult stem cells into becoming bone tissue. Plus the innovation is just one of the 25 US and internationally approved and pending patents by Dr. Clokie.

10 Leadership Skills that Jeffry Schneider Employs on a Daily Basis

Jeffry Schneider is a businessman, philanthropist, and financial guru. Jeffry Schneider is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts where he majored in finance. He is professional who has held senior executive positions in all the companies he has worked for since he initiated his career. Throughout his life, he has acquired leadership skills, making him one of the most skilled professionals in the industry. Jeffry Schneider has always been fascinated by management, and this is one of the reasons why he strives to incorporate management techniques into his daily life. He is a firm believer that effective leadership is key to getting things done in the society.

What are the qualities of an effective leader?

Leaders are the most important people in any organization. The following are some of the core skills that employers look at before hiring people to take up leadership positions.

1.Ability to inspire

Leaders are individuals with the ability to motivate other people, particularly the employees that work under them. Inspiration is often mistaken by paying staff wages. However, this is not the case. There are numerous ways in which a boss can empower their staff. These involve rewarding them, helping them build their self-esteem, and assigning them new roles.

Leaders should be eloquent speakers. This skill comes in handy when they need to talk to the staff members about the company’s goals and their roles in achieving these objectives. A person in a leadership position is one who has mastered the various forms of communication, including departmental, one-ones, emails, and social media.

A majority of good leaders fear to assign roles to their employees and end up taking responsibility for everything. This move has been observed by many as a sign of weakness. Leaders are encouraged to learn about their staff weaknesses and strengths to know how to assign duties to their junior officers.

Positivity at the workplace goes a long way to creating a habitable, happy, and healthy working space. Leaders should act professionally towards their employees. However, they should exercise concern towards their juniors such as enquiring about their holiday plans. These selfless acts build morale among employees as well as create a positive working atmosphere.

Junior employees need to feel that they can trust their bosses with their concerns and questions regarding their duties. This skill works hand in hand with respect. Employees accord respect to their bosses, when they believe in them.

A leader is mandated to make core decisions hence creativity is vital. A person in the leadership position is required to learn various problem-solving techniques to arrive at favorable conclusions. Creative thinking skills are paramount and inspire employees to respect a leader who comes up with elaborate yet straightforward solutions.

7.Feedback not micromanaging

Effective leaders should be able to evaluate their employees’ efforts and provide them with advice. Offering feedback on performance enables staff members to improve and make adjustments in their decision-making skills. This step makes it easier for leaders to assign duties to their employe                                                          8.Success assessment

Leaders are mandated to assess both failures and successes of their team. Additionally, their role in management permits them to accept blame if things do not go as planned. This act is referred to as taking responsibility.

9.Commitment to work

Dedication is one of the most important skills of all. Following through to what you promised is essential to one’s colleagues and the office that they hold.

A working environment is prone to emergencies and mishaps. Therefore, leaders should be flexible enough to accommodate last-minute changes. Both employers and employees appreciate a leader that can accept differences and come up with favorable techniques to solve problems.

Susan McGalla Paves the Way For Women Executives

Susan McGalla grew up in a family with two brothers and a father who was a football coach. She was no stranger to being the “odd person out” because she wasn’t given any advantage from that crowd when she was growing up. She had to earn what she wanted and she took that skill with her in life and it has made her extremely successful.

She worked her way up through the steps at American Eagle Outfitters to become the President of the company. In an organization where all of the executives were men, and in a supposed male type of company, she outshined them all to take over the highest leadership role.

She left American Eagle to start her own consulting firm, P3 Executive Consulting. She is now the Vice President of Business Strategy and Creative Strategy for the National League Football team Pittsburgh Steelers. Again, in a male-dominated business she holds her own. She goes into a situation not too worried that she is a woman because she has talent and is able to express her ideas in such a way that they just make sense.

Even with more and more women taking on key leadership roles, there is still that glass ceiling that everyone keeps talking about. Women such as Susan McGalla provides a great example of what women can do, but not all women are able to find and take part in these chances for the opportunity.

There are plenty of work groups and initiatives for women as well, but it doesn’t seem that they are the answer. Even though these groups give women the opportunity to network, share ideas, and it provides platforms for women to plan and strategize there is something lacking.

Even with the plethora of women’s initiatives, they still only hold about a quarter of the key leadership roles in American business. One area where there is an exciting breakthrough is the mentorship and sponsorship of women by executives who can come alongside women and help them find the executive roles where they can shine and earn their way to the top. This way more women like Susan McGalla can show their abilities and make a difference.
